Differences persist in NHA over Lahore-Sialkot Motorways contract

Tug of war has been started between Chairman National Highways Authority (NHA) and its members authority after awarding the contract of Lahore Sialkot Motorways (LSM) to Frontier Works Organization (FWO).


Ministry of communications sources told Online that differences is persisted in NHA over giving Lahore Sialkot Motorways contract to FWO.

He said feasibility report of this project, announced by the PM Nawaz Sharif, has been finalized adding that this project will be constructed with the cost of 44billion of rupees on the BOT basis.

Sources said that contract worth billion of rupees mostly are being given to FWO in NHA which is busy to complete roads projects outlined for the CPEC.

Sources added that important meeting regarding the formal approval of contract was held at NHA, in the meeting members of the committee expressed their concerned over awarding the contract to FWO.

Sources further added that Chairman NHA Shahid Ashraf Tarar is insisting to give the contract to FWO however the meeting of Executive Board remained inconclusive and was postponed for indefinite time.
