فوج میں یہ روایت رہی ہے کہ عید کے دن تمام افسران اور سپاہی ایک وقت کا کھانا ساتھ کھاتے تھے۔ جسے فوجی اصطلاح میں بڑا کھانا کہتے ہیں۔یہ روایت کور اور ڈیویژن کی سطح پر تھی لیکن جنرل مشرف نے یہ روایت نامعلوم وجوہات کی بنا پر ختم کر دیں۔
بہر حال یہ اچھی بات ہے کہ جنرل راحیل نے یہ روایت دوبارہ شروع کی،

Dear Gorgias, practise of having bara khana during Eid and other National days was not terminated by Gen musharraf. It was there during musharraf era also. This is tradition of Army that during such occassions all officers and troops take meal together
