Albert Einstien once said" Heroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome non sense that goes by the name of patriotism....how passionately I hate
them"
I cannot but think of Einstien.
Democratic sucess in Egypt will help secure freedom for countries throughout the region.
However,a variety of external players who are attempting to show the pace of change to ensure that local surrogates loyal to them have a blocking vote.It is strange that external players who have played and continue to play a dominant role in the affairs of the region namely Britian,France and United States.
Two external players.....US and European Union are playing important roles backstage and on the ground in offering money, training and political support most of which has ended up in the hands of most despotic rulers. The West, not the Arab people have supported these despots for years.
As far back as 1958 US President Eisenhower said that there was a campaign of hatred against the US in the Arab world, not from governments but from the people and the perception in the Arab world today is that US blocks democracy and development and supports harsh dictators in order to get control of their oil.The perception is more or less accurate and that's basically what the West is doing.
The CIA coup in 1953 to depose Iran's democratically elected Prime Minister Mossadegh is a most egregious example of the West blocking democracy and springing upon the middle east.
Any comments on this Guys ????
