Is it suitable for our nation ?

For having democracy in Pakistan we had to loose Bengal ?
Democratic leaders made political appointments and brought two worst martial laws in Pakistan ( Appointment of zia by Bhutto , and musharaf by nawaz )

Democracy of Benazir and Nawaz sharif has brought pakistan to current situation where people do not have roti , kapra aur makan and bijli , pani and gas.

Why do we consider democracy so IMPORTANT ? and holy ?

Does democracy means electing the electables over and over again ?

What benefits have Pakistan derived from democracy ?

Solution :

A government of chosen technocrats and no aristocrats
People with known background and track record to support and run the government.

Well i will not agree that kayani is sold.....
he did not intervened coz he had to clear mess of his predecessor and at the same time army intervention in PPP govt would have steamed the believe that PPP is a hated party by army and that army does not need democracy

Kayani by not intervening proved that this democracy is actually demon-cracy

- Pakistan has been under Martial Laws for half its life. These dictators selected technocrats for running the government and failed utterly in delivering.

- Democracy in Pakistan will deliver once it matures, this is the first time in decades that a democratic government gave way to another democratic government. We never hears jokers like Zaid Hamid or TuQ during martial laws, they only get hysterical once a democratic setup comes up.

- In a country like Pakistan where there are so many segments based on race, language and sect democracy is the only system which assures that everyone will get some representation. Separatist movements in Pakistan were to some degree an outcome of Martial Laws where some segments felt that they won't get their rights via democratic means and must pick up arms to get their share.

- Bhutto and Shariff did not bring the worst Martial Laws, the army did. These dictators could not stay there for a day if it was not for the support of Army.

- We lost East Pakistan when Yahya Khan, a dictator, was head of country, not a politician. We lost Siachen when Zia ul Haq was the head of state (he famously said what will India gain, even grass does not gorw on Sia chen)

- We need democracy now because it has the power to bring all segments in mainstream. Democracy means there is no bloodbath and war over ruling the country. PPP gave way to PMLN, PMLN will give way to who ever public elects. It is a method of peaceful transaction of power. The condition of Pakistan today is not due to democracy, it is due to military intervention time and again which has corrupted the whole core of state.

Forget about who is to select technocrats. The problem with Pakistan is political and no technocrat has experience to solve this.

ps: If you think Democracy is itself alien , then what type of Govt. these so called technocrat will run ? Dictatorial or autocratic ?
