I am serious feeling that i might got naegleria fowleri because i did wudu 1 day back and we do not clean our underground tank for 3 to 5 years and there is gutter line open ,which is passing through our water line.

What should i do for now?

Brother, have you got it checked from a doctor or just googled the symptoms? Because last time when I googled my symptoms I was sure I got serious heart problem, but when I went to doctor he said you only have GERD (a stomach problem). So I'd suggest you to go to the doctor ASAP, instead of assuming things.

Do you live in Karachi? If you don't, you're safe as all the cases seems to have happened in Karachi, thankfully they're rare.

I am a microbiologist and the worst thing you can do now is panic. Just relax and believe in Allah.

The symptoms will appear within a week if you were infected at which point you should go to the doctor and he can start really toxic drugs for both you and the bug aftercconfirming the infection. It's not something you can take out of panic. I doubt the bug can be found until symptoms appear or it proliferates.

But i am sure you're fine. Next time use boiled water or maybe even bottled water is good from a good company?

Thankfully the outbreaks are rare so not a lot of infected places otherwise the whole Karachi would've fallen sick.

I live in DHA ,however, i am scared because water went into my brain. There was sand dust in Karachi and my tank is not cleaned since 3 years. I am scread because this virus in Karachi. However, Allah ka shukar ha ka i have not any thing serious yet.

Oh, it can be scary then. But InshaAllah, you're fine just panicking which is normal.

Next time be careful since you live in Karachi, boiling water should be a common habit. You can go to a doctor and get a CSF test which is taking your cerebrospinal fluid - the fluid in your back nerves from your brain and spine - which is a really painful test. The doctor will also tell you to relax.

Nah, CSF procedure is like this.

You lay down on your side, they insert a needle into your spine (lower back) and fluid comes out. It's just very painful. No long term side effects except maybe sore back or a stupid doctor hitting your nerve and making you paralysed for life but the doctor has to be stupid.

A doctor will not agree to do this because you're anxious. And the amaeba probably cannot be seen until it actually grows in numbers. Remember it has to eat the brain then travel to the spine which takes their numbers to be big.

So if you're fine and have no symptoms, relax and pray to Allah. This is what i would do too and i am a hypochondriac.

But the moment you get symptoms of flu, fever etc then rush to the hospital.

BTW you can't get water to your brain, the burning sensation you feel is water hitting your smell nerves and sinuses. Nothing bad about it

I use geser for ,which provide hot water for wudu. Is it ok?

Also some members might get angry at me but Karachi is the worst city in Pakistan. The water is unclean and it's also crime ridden.

If you can afford to, move to Lahore or Islamabad or Peshawar. I live in Peshawar and Allah ka shukar, we don't have the same problems that Karachi people face.

This amaeba is scary but thankfully it's rare. There are much worse issues of Karachi such as sanitation and crimes both not good for health.

In the end though, just remember you can't escape death and if Allah has written it, you will get it even if you live in US.

Don't make fun of him. This isn't a joke, since he lives in Karachi there's very real danger of infection.

In wudu, water does get to the olfactory nerves (smell nerves) and they burn. I too was scared that i might get water in brain as a young guy until i learned human anatomy in university.
