Surviving and winning are two different things. The yanks could have flattened entire villages from the air if they even suspected one taliban to be in there and you know very well they could do that but then they would draw massive black lash from the international community over civilian casualties.

The Taliban just managed to survive hiding behind civilians. That's it. In a strait up fight I doubt they would even win a battle against loundas from liyari just using stones.

The only real success they had against the Nato forces was early on in the conflict where their IEDs did some serious damage but that was also soon overcome with armoured and blast resistant vehicles.
