This is v preliminary - it’s pre-clinical stage and need to show safety and efficacy in human trials before it’ll be considered. Some are using already approved drugs “off-label” to treat COVID-19 but that’s just anecdotal. It doesn’t provide any scientific evidence to use it generally on everyone.

One thing to remember is that you need to first establish a safe and effective dose - many compounds can kill this virus in labs but if humans can’t tolerate the dose needed to get rid of the virus then it’s useless - initial stages of a clinical trials are used to determine the dose and most of the drugs don’t move forward due to dose limiting toxicity
