Note : The sentence is not overturned by Commissioner Peshawar (there are no commissioners but rather by Judicial official Commissioner Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) Sahibzada Mohammad Anees comes under federal Govt..

Wt has Afridi done, were we officially giving refuge to Bin Ladan if that is not the case he cannot be punished for giving info. If they manage to get Aafia out of USA prison than they can hv Afridi as well

LOL also I remember KPK Govt. wanted him transferred to Federal jurisdiction or prison but they did not want anything to be tied with Afridi

Ab PTI waley keya karein gey ...jab reymon devis ka mamila to PTI walon ney bara shor machaya tha keh yeh to punjab govt key under tha to yeh zamadar hai...ab dekhtey hian keh KPK govt shakeel afridi ko kaisey janey deti hai....donon jasus hain aur don american citizen hain....ab kpk waley keya karein gey...

I think, if these rumors are roaming around, then it would be happened sooner or later. America will be so happy to give afia siddiqi back, as she is almost dead woman, mentally, physically. But if someone is thinking that, america will ever beg to get something from pakistan or if they do not give us afia, pakistani gov can resist or wont give them afridi, you are wrong then. America will give afia, just to make this emotional nation happy, so people will forget about everything and will start worshiping these traitors.

I know you won't reply to my reply but just to let you know that there is a big difference between Raymond Davis and Afridi. Raymond Davis committed cold blooded murder in Lahore and was charged under arms Act and Pakistan Penal code. Afridi has been charged under FCR and FCR has nothing to do with the province. It is under Federal laws. KPK provincial government is just keeping him in jail for Federal Government and if the Federal Government wants, he can be even shifted to a jail in Sindh. Provincial government has no power to question Federal Government if the federal government wants to take him out to transfer to another jail or to even release him. Think logically and legally before you speak. Thanks.

Commissioner KPK ka hai aur kpk mein PTI kee govt hai it mean KPK bhi onboard hai ...uskey bagher yeh nahin ho sakta tha..commissioner apni marzi sey kaisey hukam jari kar sakta hai....Punjab govt par to bara chilla rahey they pti waley ab dekhtey hian shakeel afridi par keya kahtey hain

Officials in Pakistan have overturned the jail sentence and ordered a retrial of a doctor who helped the CIA in their search for Osama Bin Laden.
Shakil Afridi was charged with treason and tried under the tribal justice system for running a fake vaccination programme to gather information.
He was jailed for 33 years in May 2012 and has been held since then at Peshawar Central Jail.
Bin Laden was killed by US forces in Abbottabad in May 2011.
His killing created a crisis in relations between the US and Pakistan, which felt the covert operation was a violation of its sovereignty.
Jailed for collaborationThe sentence was quashed and a retrial ordered because the previous judge had exceeded his authority in handing down the sentence, a judicial official at Pakistan's Frontier Crimes Regulation ruled.
The previous trial had been heard by an official with the status equivalent to a magistrate. The order issued by the commission says that the new trial must be heard by an official with the status of a judge.
Dr Afridi will stay in prison until the retrial is concluded. No date has been set for the trial.
Shortly after the raid on Bin Laden's house, Dr Afridi was arrested for conspiring against the state of Pakistan.
Although he was accused of working with the CIA he was eventually jailed for collaborating with a militant group. Correspondents say that the group named had actually kidnapped him on one occasion.
Dr Afridi was not present at his trial. His swift conviction came in a court outside Pakistan's normal jurisdiction in the semi-autonomous tribal areas, which do not necessarily follow standard judicial procedures.
He has consistently maintained that he did not know the target of the CIA operation was Osama Bin Laden.
