Qateel Siddiqui of Indian Mujahideen was murdered in Pune jail on 8 June 2011. Qateel Siddiqui’s murder in Yervada Security Jail testifies to the fact that the Muslim youths are not safe even in high security jails.
Qateel was named in German Bakery Blast case in Pune, Jamia Masjid Delhi firing and terrorist attack in Bangalore stadium. He was arrested by Maharashtra ATS in Dagdu Seth Halwai failed bombing case on 9-12-2011 under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He was to be produced in court on Friday on 8[SUP]th[/SUP] June. ATS wanted to tell the court that his further custody in not required and that he could be sent back to Delhi for further trials.

He was said to be an accomplice of Indian Mujahideen’s top brass Yaseen Bhatkal who paid him Re One Lakh for his daughter’s treatment. Yaseen also gave him Rs.25,000 later. He arranged a rented room for Yaseen in Samastipur. Qateel was associated with Indian Mujahideen since 2009.
