We need to give priority to preserving our environment: Imran Khan

Chairman PTI Imran Khan issued a strong statement against the PMLN Government's plan to build a new city across the Margalla Hills linked by an underground tunnel from Islamabad. He said this was a complete environmental disaster destroying the natural beauty and habitat of Islamabad and the Margalla Hills. "This area is a conservation area of the National Park and cannot be destroyed to accomodate the greed of developers", Khan pointed out. He added it would also cause more traffic congestion thereby adding to the pollution od the Capital. The Chairman vowed PTI would raise this issue in the National Assembly and would demand a study on the environmental impact of this misguided project.

"We need to give priority to preserving our environment and respecting our environment preservation laws. This is our future generation's legacy and we have a responsibility to preserve it," Khan concluded.

PTI volunteers form new force in KPK

PESHAWAR - The volunteers of ruling Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday announced formation of a group ‘Insaf Change Force’ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aims at strengthening party roots in masses and to develop a better coordination and link between the provincial government and its people.

The announcement was made by the self-introduced Insaf Change Force (ICF) Central Spokesman Zahid Khattak while speaking at a news conference here at press club. He said that volunteers played a significant role in delivering the message and manifesto of the ruling PTI to common people at their doorsteps during the general elections and due to which it emerged as a new political force with a slogan to bring change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He, however, lamented that party ignored the volunteers after the success in the May 11 general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which created a great unrest and frustration among the party workers. “The PTI defeat in the recently held bye-elections arose many questions in the minds of commoners, as party was unable to win its own important constituencies,” Khattak said. He said due to the inactiveness of the volunteers, party received setback in the bye-polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Accompanied by PTI Youth Wing Central Senior Vice President Furqan Kakakhel, he said that situations emerged after bye-polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa compelled the change volunteers to unite themselves and start efforts to reorganise the party after its defeat in the province. “We decided to establish a group in the name of ‘Insaf Change Force’ in the province, in which more than 400 party members registered their names, during the last three months from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that PTI is a movement not a conventional political party but certain opportunists in the party ranks were trying to limit the party up to their families.

“The PTI-led provincial government has initiated the efforts for change but the real change is not looking possible due to the slow and lazy process of its implementation. “Our agenda and manifesto is that of PTI central leadership not to create any forward block and opponent group in the party ranks,” he said. On the occasion, he announced the names of ICF central executive committee.

500 monitors to check teachers' activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will appoint 500 monitors to monitor the activities of teachers of all public sector educational institutions of the province. The monitors will visit different educational institutions and formally check the attendance record and arrival and departure of the teachers.

The monitors would be provided with the modern instruments through which the Peshawar Secretariat would be able to know their whereabouts. The provincial government has allocated Rs 500 million for this purpose. This was told in the provincial assembly by Provincial Minister for Agriculture. Shehram Khan Tarakai while replying to a call attention notice of Muzaffar Saeed Advocate of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI). He informed the house that at present hundreds of BPS-16 and BPS-17 posts were vacant in most of the educational institutions. He said a policy for filling of these posts would be evolved soon.

During the proceedings, Provincial Minister for Revenue, Ali Amin Gandapore told the house that computerisation of land record in all districts of the province would be completed within four years, which would be followed by the provision of information through one-window operation. The question of the Qaimoos Khan of PML-N was referred to the standing committee, which is yet to be announced.

The parliamentary leader of ANP, Sardar Hussein Babak urged the government for the early appointment of the consultants to start development work in the province. Zarin Gul of JUI-F alleged that during the previous government some fake and incomplete seminaries and mosques were given over Rs 20 million and called for investigation into the matter.

Speaking on a point of order, Sardar Hussein Babak said that the vehicles carrying number plates of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were being harassed and asked the government to raise this issue with the government of Punjab. Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Israrullah Gandapore assured that the issue would be taken up with the government of Punjab seriously and if possible a resolution would also be passed from the house in this regard.

Meanwhile, opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has expressed concern over the outbreak of deadly disease Dengue in Malakand division, particularly in Swat and has suggested the launching of mass awareness movement against it. Abdus Sattar Khan and Sardar Aurangzeb Nalota of PML-N said the Congo virus has killed several people in Hazara. Sardar Hussein Babak underlined importance of creating awareness among the people regarding the deadly disease.

Israrullah Khan Gandapore assured that the government would conduct aerial spray in all the affected areas and provide free treatment to affected people. He said the Chief Minister has approved special grant of Rs 60 million for the provision of proper treatment and medicines to Dengue patients.

Just because of lack of evidence these criminals cannot be prosecuted. Police should collect proper evidence against suspect.
