US has never claimed that Pakistanis were fighting as afghan Taliban. They used to talk only about support and hideout but that was more about politics. Pentagon/UK are not kids that they didn't know who they were fighting with - that's basic intelligence.
It were only Indians and several US organizations who blamed Pakistan on social media and political organizations.
