PESHAWAR (Dunya News) Policemen were praised for their prompt action during a terrorist attack on a local court in Charsadda district today (Tuesday).
Three suicide bombers tried to enter a district and session court in Tehsil Tangi. One of them blew himself up at the main gate while two others were killed during exchange of fire with the policemen deployed inside the court premises.
The attackers reportedly hurled hand grenades and opened fire which prompted retaliatory fire from the police and security forces present at court.
At least six people died and 30 others were injured due to the suicide blast.
Lawyers and local people in large number were present inside the court at the time of the attack. Hundreds of lawyers, judges and everyday citizens pass through such facilities on a daily basis.
Many people including prominent personalities appreciated the role of the law enforcement personnel for their courageous action against the attackers.
A recent wave of violence has claimed 100 lives in Pakistan in the past week, raising concerns about the resurgence of militant violence across the country.
After the recent attacks, strict security mesaures are in place at sensitive locations and the government offices.
More than 100 terrorists have been killed and over 300 suspects have been detained during anti-terror raids across the country during last week.
