The shamble that we are in, there seems no way out if routine procedures (like holding fresh elections) are followed. What can happen at best if fresh elections are held. In best case Imran Khan will win with 2/3 majority. If so, what? IK has already been in government in KP for the last nine years with 2/3 majority (still continuing) and in Federal government for 3.5 years. What difference has it made? If not , how can it make with new elections. same people will be returned to assemblies in different garbs .Even with 2/3 majority, IK will have to oblige his members and 'faithfuls' clearly overriding merit as has been going on in the last nine years. This is how politics works and cannot work without this. Elections are not the answer. Pakistan needs a government of non political expert people chosen judiciously to run the country for five years overseen by a ruthless accountability system. When politics is taken out most problems of Pakistan can be addressed sensibly and committedly.
