ISLAMABAD, Aug 18: The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has arranged basic toolkits for 50,000 affected families who have returned to Buner district to repair their homes damaged during the conflict.
The kits, which are funded by the USAIDs Office of US Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), include a shovel, pickaxe, adze, hammer, nails, pliers, pincers, chisel, wrench, trowel, handsaw, gloves, nylon rope and steel binding wire.
An IOM official said they were also coordinating with the World Food Programme and would distribute the toolkits among registered families at the same time when they would arrive to receive their share of food rations from designated points.
According to the authorities, over 70,000 families have returned to Buner since July 13 when the NWFP government decided that it was safe to start sending people back to the area.
