Its been a month that this Gender Protection Unit was formed In Islamabad after being tried in Rawalpindi. The good thing is that victims do not have to go to the police station. ASP tells:

2 - NO second punishment available as an alternative (such as we read the the law, either 14 years, or death, or fine).. Judges shouldn't be given any room to decide on the alternative lighter punishment..
3 - Automatic inclusion of person's name on PNIL and ECL without the right to challenge it in any court until the case is decided
4 - Max time of hearing in session court should be one month.. in case a judge couldn't decide in one month, he can no longer remain a judge after three such delays. Appeal process per superior court should not be longer than one week.
5 - In case police is found to put weaker sections in the FIR, the relevant SHO/ DPO should be suspended.. three such cases should be a reason for his termination with all the EoS benefits forfeited.

Asaan hai yeh karna.. lekin kia hamari parliament yeh qanoon manzoor karegi?

Oh Yes! we should form a police state. where everyone is guilty, proven or not ; where state ( society, police, accuser) has tools to snatch away basic right with verbal statements or at will , with unknown intentions..

Already we have created a global police state on the name of 'war on terror' with 'anti-terrorist's' laws and have taken away several privacy/personal rights of the people. Technology has made the state too powerful against an individual.
We don't need a state based upon fear, media frenzy , emotions or anger at the cost of personal freedom. and natural justice

And mandatory sentencing (i.e. there must be maximum sentence only) is gruesome and against natural justice. Only a judge may decide based on the facts of individual cases and nature of the evidence and crime-- otherwise close the courts.

There will always be evil acts and criminal minds- no matter what. Also complete justice and victim's compensation is impossible. State should protect all but, not to criminalize any citizen at will. This world will never a perfect space and at least I'm content with this cruel fact. We need only a livable space with enough dignity. and freedom only. Also, compassion, mercy and will to reform is as good a virtues as fear or instinct for self defense.

First we need to establish a state, where people's lives are safe.

I have children, and I don't want to imagine how parents who go through the trauma of their children being brutally killed after getting raped might feel all their remaining miserable lives.

So better give a lecture to someone in the west where such crimes are not seldom found, they are plenty..

Mandatory sentencing is the law of my deen, which teaches an eye for an eye. You don't like it, it's your choice. My country was established based on Islam.

Islam doesn't say an eye for an eye, or 2 years jail. An individual has already lost his life and I am sure his family doesn't want to see the murderer roaming freely after spending 14 years (even less). This is not natural justice.

I will accept what my deen teaches me any day over what danishwars of today have chosen for themselves.

Where did you get the impression that I am in favor of state criminalizing at will?
All I said, there shouldn't be any bail for SERIOUS crimes, and if a person is innocent, he can come out of the custody within a couple of months. Please read my post again, it suggests quick justice, not 5 years of lengthy trials.
