Australian Prime Minister announced election date. When will our Government do so?

Austrlian PM has already announced the Election date. When will our so called democratic Government going to do that??


JULIA Gillard has announced Australians will go to the polls on [HI]September 14 2013[/HI], setting the scene for the longest election campaign in Australia's history.

The Prime Minister told the National Press Club she would visit the Governor-General on August 12 to advise her to dissolve the parliament and issue election writs.
She said she had announced the date to allow a year of “cool and reasoned deliberation”, rather than eight months of feverish campaigning.

“Announcing the election date now enables individuals and businesses, investors and consumers, to plan their year,” she said.

Ms Gillard said she wanted to create an environment in which voters could be more easily focused on national issues, rather than “petty politics”.

“I can act so Australia's parliament and government serves their full three-year term, so it is clear and certain when the election will be held.
