I respect Mr. O. M very much and always feel touched by his writings because they seem so close to my own feelings and thinking. In this case I have to differ with him with all respect. My diiference is in regard to the analysis of the figures he has given and the fact that he has compared the decsision of the people of Afghanistan in the absence of a government.
As far as the figures go pakistan has a much higher number of Terrorist killed as compared to any other figure, and this shows that the fight is not all that wrong in direction.
Also the loss of civilian innocent is very sad and regrettable but it is due to the terrorist and what if we had not been able to kill all of the +18000 thow high this figure could have been.
The fact that the people of Afghanistan have taken up weapons against the invading troops was in the absence of a government in place. The government of Afghanistan is doing almost the same type of cooperation that our government did and is doing.
As far as being afraid is concerned well that is only natural, although this is no justification for not doing the right thing. We may be afraid but we have to have faith in Allah and that is it, period.
That said, I do find it a very unusual and fantastic how Mr. O.M has sort of picked up on the idea that these displaced people of Pakistan could be the start of something unheard of and somehting that we all want deep down!
