Chief Minister (5k+ posts)

A Dawn correspondent Anwar Iqbal has posted some explosive tweets, apparently after talking to Christina Lamb as per his claims.
He writes, Christina says no one ever showed her any documents. Contrary to this tweets, we heard numerous time from different anchors that it was arranged that Christina would publish the details of the scandal during the visit of CJ to London. Many anchors have said Malik Riaz signed a contract with Christina and handed her over the proofs on the scandal.
If these tweets are correct, there is no way in hell Christina would do an article, without proofs shared with her. She is not going to leave herself and her paper open to a hefty law bill. Another proof we shouldn't trust what we are told in majority of cases.
Christina says she doesn't know why she was named in this scandal, she has nothing to do with it.
You see my friends, what we are told, if this is what Christina actually said to Anwar.
Funny, according to Anwar, now Gilani and Shujat wants her to do a story for them. (bigsmile)

Terming media reports as “made up”, British journalist Christina Lamb denied having contacted anyone regarding the financial impropriety case against Dr Arslan Iftikhar, the son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhdry.
Earlier, media reports had claimed that the chief of Bahria Town, Malik Riaz, had approached Lamb — the Washington bureau chief ofSunday Times – to “break the news” about the scandal when the chief justice was scheduled to come to receive the International Jurists Award – 2012.
The reports further claimed that this move was planned to “bring a bad name” to the chief justice and might also force him to resign.
However, in her tweet on Sunday, she said:
christinalamb @christinalamb
Any purported quotes from me on CJ issue are made up, all I know is what I’ve read in the media and have spoken to no one!
Following media reports that Dr Arsalan had received between Rs300 and Rs400 million from Riaz to influence judicial proceedings, the chief justice had taken a suo motu notice and had summoned him and Bahria Town’s chief.
Malik Riaz, however, did not appear before the court and a personal staff officer had informed the court that he was in the United Kingdom, undergoing medical treatment.
