Apple Unveils iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus (video added)

It's official: Apple has released a 5.5-inch iPhone. Officially called the iPhone 6 Plus, the device is Apple's first entry into the phone-tablet hybrid (a.k.a. "phablet") market. It also released the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, making it Apple's second largest smartphone.

• A faster Apple A8 processor, which Apple claims is 25 percent faster than the previous processor.
• A better battery life than the iPhone 5s.
• "Ion-strengthened" Retina HD resolution displays.
• The iPhone 6 is only 6.8 millimeters thick and the iPhone 6 Plus is 7.1 millimeters both thinner than the 7.6-millimeter iPhone 5s.
• An improved FaceTime camera capable of HDR photo and video, and burst mode for selfies.

The iPhone 6 will start at $199 with a two-year contract, while the iPhone 6 Plus will start at $299. Pre-orders begin on September 12, with phones actually shipping on September 19.
Why did Apple go big? In three years, phablets will outsell both laptops and tablets, according to a report from market research firm IDC. Samsung strengthened its position in the phablet market last week by releasing the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, which comes equipped with a curved screen.

I really hope people dont fall for this marketing trick and waste their precious hard earned money on this phone. Come on yaar, this phone has nothing NEW to show for. Samsung has been in phablet business since ages. Whats new with a bigger iPhone? Just look at the same old marketing tricks apple has employed for years now: 25% faster, 167% brighter, 79.5% more pixels, 33.75% lighter ---- I mean COME ON.

​I never got into using iPhones because they were to small for me. I have been using the Note II. My contract will expire next year, I will see how good the iPhone Plus is and I will get the next gen. I have an iPad air but I am still fan of android as the touch feels much better. Btw anyone know when iPad air 2 is coming out?

I would rather buy it than pay $65 per month for a contract. Its much cheaper in the long run and it would be unlocked so I can sell it in Pak or Dubai when I'm done with it as it is hard to get it there.

I have always been into ridiculously big phones i am using an android note 8 n5100 as a phone which is an 8 inch phablet never used an iphone before either but i am looking to downsize so its either going to be the note 4 or the iphone 6 plus..i love android and the freedom it gives you as opposed to apple

I do have a concern with the new button and do not appreciate my thumb prints floating around in the internet as thumb prints are very personal.

I'm really disapointed from Apple, i was expecting something really good, Note 4 note 4 edge, They are farr better in specs from iphone 6, I will say no to iphone now. RIP steve jobs.

From 4S to 6, all models have the same technologies so buy 4S for a cheaper price.
