In its history, Pakistan hasn’t seen a worse dictatorship. kidnapping, abductions, and disappearance of its citizens. Fake cases are registered against anyone who dares to differ from the military junta or its puppets.
One gets bail in one case and on its release picked up in another case. Fake encounters are done to eliminate voices of dissent.
The personal property of opponents is looted, and their women and children are harassed until they agree to praise those in power and the almighty military.
Telephone calls of anyone, and everyone, are being tapped and released in public for political victimization or to blackmail judges, etc. to get desired results.
Imran Riaz’s case is an eye-opener for everyone in the country, and a challenge for the judiciary. Why that man was released at night to another agency and now everyone claims that he knows nothing about it?
Two men responsible for his disappearance are IG Punjab and the ISI head. Why these two men are not put in incarceration until Imran Riaz is recovered? And that will put a full stop to such future incidents.
The biggest hoax in the history of Pakistan is of May 9 incident. The architect of that was military and other law enforcement agencies which were conspicuously absent on that day and let protesters march to military installations and destroy them. And that begs a bigger question that if they can’t protect military installations in the cities from a few hundred people then how the hell they are going to defend the country?
Like the Model Town incident, no judicial inquiry was held to get to the bottom of this mayhem, but the incident is being used to wipe out PTI. Without any evidence, PTI supporters are picked up and until they promise to distance themselves from PTI they are not released. That supports the myth that the May 9, incident was staged to eliminate PTI.
While all this is going on in the country, where are the 16 judges of the Supreme Court?
Are these judges sitting in cocoons and do not see gross human rights violations in the country?
Can any one of them dare to stand up and put an end to this brutality?
If these judges can’t stand up for the oath they took then they better go home.
