Federal government responds over media reports of replacing Information Minister

ISLAMABAD - The Prime Minister House and Special Assistant to Prime Minister of Pakistan on Political Affairs Naeem Ul Haque have denied rumours about replacement of portfolio of Fawad Chaudhry with Sheikh Rasheed.*

Sources of the PM House said there was some hidden agenda behind spreading baseless reports of Fawad Chaudhry’s replacement. They said Fawad would continue his responsibilities as the information minister and he was not being replaced.

While, Naeem Ul Haq said there was no question on performance of the information minister and the rumours in this regard had nothing to do with reality.

“Fawad will remain information minister and Sheikh Rasheed railways minister,” he said.

Mr. Naeem ul Haq, I know it is difficult for you, but please try to do it.

Please ask PM to refrain from giving uncalled for/off-the-cuff statements and offers. He himself gave this offer to Sheikh Rasheed ( if I believe in Sheikh’s statement, and Sheikh has no reason to tell a lie on this issue). Didn’t IK know that Fawad Chaudhry was performing the best among all ministers when economic situation of the country was very tough and PM/ministers had the habit of creating controversies by themselves? What was in PM’s mind when he was making that offer to S.Rasheed? Was he not satisfied with Fawad? Was he not satisfied with Sheikh’s performance as Railway minister? Or, was he making this offer without thinking?
