A21-year-old woman was set ablaze allegedly by her stalker in Vizianagram, Andhra Pradesh.
The incident took place in Chowduvada of Pusapatirega Mandal of the Vizianagram district on Thursday night.
According to police, the accused, identified as A Rambabu, works as a driver. He doused the victim in petrol and set her ablaze while she was sleeping.
While the victim suffered 60 per cent burns, her sister and 5-year-old nephew were also burned while attempting to save her. All three injured are being treated at Maharaja District Hospital in Vizianagram.
Taking serious note of the incident, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed officials to ensure better treatment for the victim.
He also directed the police department to initiate stringent action against the accused.
