MQM senior leader Babar Ghori has said that MQM is a democratic party and it never endorsed martial law. Talking to media in Islamabad on Thursday, Babar wondered that why Nawaz Sharif got angry over Altaf Hussains statement that, he added has been misperceived. He said his party leader always upheld democracy in the country.
He alleged Nawaz Sharif struck a deal with a dictator (Gen Musharraf) to avoid conviction.

PML-N has made house calls to Gen. Kiani more than any party so this hue nd cry is dubious. System has collapsed PML_N has'nt given a damn about flood victims. This stupid issue has been stetched like a chewing gum, after PML-N's stance their operatives are trying to shoot the messenger, diverting people off message. There is no better goon then Zardari and his keen supporter Nawaz Sharif. Pakistan is suffering due to misgovernance and shoddy feudalism called jamhuriyat. Nawaz Sharif wants this Zardarana nizaam to continue while people hurt. Even if MQM gets out of the coalition Nawaz Sharif will lend support to Zardari to keep the govt. afloat. To protect this Zardarana nizaam where Pakistanis are losing everything even their self-respect while politicians acquire gains by punching us with taxes and IMF. Punjabis are also suffering due to this "system" Nawaz Sharif wants to protect, well after some time when this govt. remains in tact Altaf Hussain statement will go in background but people will still be suffering, victims of Zardarana nizaam. Congrats to PML_N for another by-election win in Rawalpindi, this govt. is rubbing salt in the wounds of us all but Good Luck with your support of Zardari.

Talk about idiotic leader's statement and then paddling back when water rises. You put 2000 words to malign Nawaz Sharif yet your Pir in London was the first politician who supported and nominated Zardari for Pakistan. There is no sign for your party to quit the alliance wich you have with PPP for longer time and before that you were part of the wadera group with Kasoori and chaouhdaries. Your undemocratic stance is not something which surprize anyone considering your years of coddling Army Generals and others.

Imran reacts to Altaf's remarks

ISLAMABAD PTI Chairman Imran Khan has categorically stated that he in no way condones the statement made by MQM Chief Altaf Hussain inciting the military for another Martial Law.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Imran said that he feels that since the MQM is part of the ruling coalition, Altaf Hussains statement is a clear admission of failure by this ruling coalition. However, instead of calling for the Army to intervene again, with all the chaos that implies, the MQM should have chosen to leave the coalition and demanded mid-term elections.
Imran said, It is a standard procedure in a democratic dispensation that whenever a government fails to deliver, it becomes mandatory on it to seek a fresh mandate from the people. The time has certainly come when a transparent election under the aegis of the judiciary are held immediately to bring the country out of the present crisis of confidence and the prevailing trust deficit that exists between the government and people of Pakistan.
He said that as for the military, it is not its place to intervene in the political process and our past history reflects the costs we have paid for these interventions.
At present the Army is doing a remarkable job of flood relief and it should not be dragged in to do political mopping operations, which turn into prolonged and costly political holding operations, he maintained.
