"We need to make more projects that help in spreading awareness against sexual abuse," says the actor.

Ahsan Khan has been in the industry for over a decade now and his acting prowess has remained unrivalled. He is also quite altruistic he used his fame to help the needy and underprivileged, and has collaborated with various NGOs and humanitarians for several initiatives as well. His production house has made donations to an orphanage in Islamabad, he introduced the much-needed Wall of Kindness in Pakistan and was also behind the first free of cost market in the country.

Whilst continuing his journey as a true humanitarian, the actor dared to take on the controversial role of a child molester in the most-watched TV serial, Udaari which deals with the tabooed subject of sexual abuse in our society. And now, it turns out he has donated 20 percent of his earnings from Udaari to the victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence.

HIP decided to get in touch with the actor to find out more. Heres what he told us:

"After Udaari got on air, a lot of people started opening up against sexual abuse and the horrifying experiences they had," he shared in a telephonic tete-a-tete. "So I have decided to donate a portion of my fee to victims of this evil, and I have found my first case; I am working with an NGO and finding out people who are in need of our help and assistance."

He further added that art is one of the very few platforms through which one can easily educate the audiences. Ahsan further disclosed:

"To me, Udaari is not only an acting assignment, but a serious campaign against sexual violence. I think we, as artists, have a social responsibility. Through serials and films, I think we can change people's mindsets and start talking about such evils that are part of our society and are happening quite often. We need to make more projects that help in spreading awareness against sexual abuse."

Ahsan has also started visiting educational institutes to open up about child abuse; he added:

"Before I was offered Udaari, I knew child abuse existed but I never gave the issue a serious thought. But after having played the part myself, I know how cruel and heartless this act is. Just going through the scenes gave me goosebumps but I wished to stand strong and continue playing my part to the fullest. I'm glad a lot of people have actually woken up to this reality after this serial."

For now, Ahsan's serial opposite Naveen Waqar titled Saya e Deewar Bhi Nahi has gone on air just recently. He is also gearing up for his cinematic comeback in the first half of next year with the gangsta-comedy, Chupan Chupai.
