QUETTA: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Senator Haji Lashkari Raisani on Monday said that Interior Minister Rehman Malik had been sabotaging efforts to restore peace in Balochistan, Express 24/7 reported.
Speaking to the media in Quetta, Raisani said that the interior minister resorted to violence for restoring peace in Quetta and at the same time talked about holding dialogue with militants when it came to Karachi.
He urged the judiciary to take action against those who Dr Zulfiqar Mirza had accused of conspiring to destabalise Pakistan. The senator said cases should be registered against all these people.
Earlier, Mirza had lashed out against the interior minister calling him a congenital liar and the single biggest threat to Pakistans future.
Mirza had alleged that the MQM was involved in target killings, extortion and even pursuing an anti-state agenda. He had also alleged that Malik was siding with the MQM and blackmailing the federal government.
Application filed for FIR against Rehman Malik
An application has been filed in the Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad for the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Rehman Malik following Mirzas allegations.
The application was filed by Advocate Tariq Asad on the basis of the allegations. The complainant said that at least 25 target killers had been released on Maliks directives.
The application accuses the interior minister of releasing Kamran Madhori, who had been involved in the attack on a coach carrying Sindh Reserve Police in Korangi, Karachi.
The applicant alleges that Malik had committed treason by offering American agencies access to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) database and has demanded that an inquiry be launched against him.

Malik harmful to peace process in Balochistan: Raisani

Former provincial President of Pakistan Peoples Party, Baluchistan Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani has said that the role of Rehman Malik is very controversial and is sabotaging the peace process in Balochistan.

He was talking to media at Sarawan House, on the occasion of Chelum of his uncle Mir Haqmal Raisani here on Monday. He was flanked by MNA Mir Humayun Kurd.

If the talk of Zulfiqar Mirza is not taken seriously, then the anti Pakistan elements would be encouraged. We are in contact with the resistance elements, who are ready to join main stream, but when ever Rehman Malik comes to Baluchistan, he sabotages the negotiation process by using harsh tone. I demand top leadership of the party to take action against him forthwith otherwise the circumstances would go beyond control, Raisani added.

He said that double standard of Rehman Malik for Balochistan and Karachi made his personality suspicious. It is as par with the maligning Balochistan when one Baluch miscreant out of hundred arrested terrorist brought to media. He severely condemned this act of defaming the land of Balochistan .

He said that the silence of PPP and other political parties on Mirzas testimony is very meaningful. Now it is the high time for rulers as well as politicians of the country to save either politics or state. Promises made from Baluch people were not realized as the steps taken by the government were only restricted to the media statements. If the policies of the past would be continued then the patriotic component of the province would also proceed to the mountains following the rebels.

He hoped that government would not let the patriots join the trouble-makers. The problem of Baluchistan is political which could be resolved on discussion table in a political manner only.

Responding to a question he said that Zulfiqar Mirza reveled the conspiracy to break down the country. It is imperative to initiate legal proceedings under Article 6 of the constitution, under those wrongdoers , which Mirza has indicated.
