Faults are pointed out depending upon the situation. With US in the driving seat, the responsibility of the current situation in Afghanistan lies on their shoulder. Applying a different plan would have a different result for Afghanistan.

It wasn't US that attacked twin towers on 9/11 2001. Al Qaeda operating from Afghanistan did. They started it, US only gave them taste of their own medicine

Well then congrates on such success for the US where they have avenged the deaths of 3000 civilians in 9/11 attack, at the cost of 2500(excluding Nato) soldiers dead, 20 thousand wounded, thousands of other in Trauma, a trillion dollar loss to the economy and leaving Afghanistan in the hands of the Same Taliban in whose rule it was possible for Alqaeda to launch an attack on the US so they should be ready for another 9/11 and god knows this time the US will think 10 times before entering Afghanistan again, and even if they do it will be even costlier/difficult this time than it was the first time.

But all of this could have been avoided only if US had pressed for a settlement and only left Afghanistan after a settlement, creating a stable and responsible state in Afghanistan.
