At this precise moment in the ICC Cricket World Cup no one doubts the abilities of the dark horse of the tournament, the Pakistani team. The team has demonstrated their capability and prowess quite clearly in their win against Sri Lanka. They have beaten one of the hosts of this World Cup in front of a packed crowd, on their own turf.
Now since our captain has made it clear after the match that this is everyones team, I feel that as a nation, we need to give him a few suggestions.
First of all, anyone who watched the Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka match, one member of the team clearly stood out, and not because of his skills. He was responsible for most of the mishaps on the field that day; from the comical run out to the missed stumpings and the dropped catch one Akmal was always in the equation and it wasnt the one named Umar.
See, it is quite simple with the Sri Lankan top order removed at 96/4 in a 277-run chase they should not have been able to get as close to the target as they did towards the end of their innings. They could have done what England did to India (had to mention it!). For that to happen, our team needs to be quicker and faster in the field, with no excuses for shoddy fielding. Yes, Shoaib Akthar was brilliant in bursts and yes, you our captain, rocked the ground with your bowling but it was not totally our hard work that won us the match, but it was more a combination of chance and circumstance. Thus we need to remove the chief bungler, Kamran Akmal trust me, the team will be better off without him!
In this match, Abdul Razzaq, who has the ability to knock any team out of the match with his cudgel of a bat, only faced four balls when he was dismissed. Now I understand that this was due to the fact that Misbahul Haq and Younis Khan had to pull a Miandad-esque effort to repair our innings which I might add, they did to perfection but Razzaq should have come onto the field sooner than later. In fact, here is an idea: since Misbah has picked up a hamstring strain (I have chewed all my nails off while watching him play), why dont we let him rest for the next match that is against Canada and have Razzaq play in his position? Imagine what he will do to the team from the Great White North.
Thirdly there is one talented bowler in our dressing room called Junaid Khan. Obviously the match against Sri Lanka demanded the senior, experienced players. However, Umar Gul has yet to show us his magic, so why dont we give Junaid a chance? Maybe Shoaib Akhtar can pass on some tips (cricketing ones, please) to the younger talent as they bowl side by side? We will need someone in the future to lead the bowling attack.
Last but not the least, Lala we call you Boom Boom for a reason, and if you are wondering why the crowd goes crazy when you walk out on the field, it is in expectancy of what is to happen. So can you make it happen, preferably in all the matches, up until the Semis and the Final? Please?

Good suggestion but do you have a replacement for the K akmal? Zulqurnain wa a better choice but he has been eliminated for some reasons..............

Be realistic about the team they have got.
1) They can't drop Kamran right now. He is the only so called Pro Wicket keeper in the squad.
2) I would prefer Umar Akmal at 3 than Kamran. Umar Akmal is not a blind hitter. He needs time to adjust and hit the ball. So at number 3 he will have enough time to get settled down and play his inning. He is a good runner between the wickets. He will keep the run rate ticking. While Kamran Akmal is a better blind hitter. He should come down the order. His trying to hit blind sixes got him out in the last 2 games.
3) I would prefer to see Wahab Riaz instead of Razzak. Wahab Riaz has a very lethal reverse swing delivery. Under these conditions he can very very useful. So why not a specialist genuine bowler than playing razzak. Razzak is not getting any chance to bat anyways. If they want to stick with Razzak just because he is a goot hitter, than why not use him early.

IA jaisa bhi ho...We are winning this World Cup !

There must be some one out there who is waiting for his big momment... But He is not powerful as akmal bro`s & any other player. He has got no Contacts what so ever to make him play for National Team....
There is always some one has been out there But the Corrupt system stands between him & his Dream Momment..
It`s the PCB job to find that someone, becuase this is why they get paid for from Tax Payers Money.

Dear Skipper,

We have witnessed you brutally thrash bowlers out of the park; we have seen you dismiss the best in business with your shooters, flippers and googlies and take the most difficult catches on the cricket field.

You have been our darling for more than 14 years. Every time you whack the cricket ball into the open skies, we hold our breaths. You gave us reason to dance on the streets of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta with your performance in the Twenty20 Cup, 2009. And you made us proud as you went on to score the fastest one day century in your second ODI match.

As the World Cup 2011 officially opens, we have our eyes set on you once again.

Skipper, we want this cup – not just because we are a cricket-mad nation. We, the Pakistan cricket fans, want it because for years, we have been disregarded, ignored and overlooked.

We were stripped of our right to host this World Cup. Our players weren’t allowed to appear in the lucrative Indian Premier League and our domestic structure failed to impress us with something near to its caliber. And then, all-too-familiar controversies continued to rock our cricketing world.

Bringing this cup home would do a great deal for the survival of the game of cricket in this region. You started playing cricket after gaining inspiration from the Imran Khan-led team in 1992; this cup will inspire younger generations and give birth to future-legends. Who could know this better than you?

We know winning the final is not in your hands alone. Therefore, we don’t demand your team win; rather that you give 100 per cent on the field. We have faith in your abilities and know that you can beat any team when you unleash your talent.

Given the turmoil that Pakistan cricket has gone through recently, even playing the final in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium would be considered an achievement. But bringing the cup home would silence those who for a long time have continued to undermine Pakistan’s cricket.

We pledge unconditional support to your team for the next 45 days; we pledge that if you win, we will celebrate.

We wish to see our flag hoisted with pride and to witness our national anthem being sung in the final on April 2, 2011. May our wishes come true, and may your squad of 15 players bring glory to the nation by winning this World Cup.

Pakistan Zindabad!

Sincerely,
A Pakistan cricket fan
