Bhutto and Nawaz Sahrif are both great popular leaders. Bhutto, although highly educated and well read, did not realize what was coming at him. He did have a chance to get out of the country early on but he did not take it and got eliminated in dark alleys of power. Nawaz Sharif played more sensibly, may be he learnt from Bhutto's fate, and got out of of the situation he was in, lived another day, and came back to power because of his popularity.

I think Nawaz Sharif used better judgement. I would place a tie between these two leaders for their place in Pakistani history right at the top, only behind Jinnah.
