15,000 schools of punjab to be converted on solar energy

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that fifteen thousand schools of province will be converted on solar energy under a program by Asian Development Bank and French Bank.

Chairing a meeting in Lahore on Sunday, he said that under this program, seven thousand Basic Health Centers will also be converted on solar energy as well.

He said that the University of Bahawalpur will also be converted on this energy and this program will be extended in phases.
The Chief Minister directed to setup a Steering Committee to ensure implementation of this program.

He directed to take speedy measures to enhance the capacity of Provincial Energy Department.

Please read news and tell us is this vision of Shahbaz or ADB/French Bank? Nevertheless its good initiative. As this project is designed for 15000 schools, I would recommend to build solar panels locally instead of importing through front man companies of Sharif family.
In previous term vision was to build Danish Schools system? What is the situation with Dnaish Schools program.
BTW Solar system is very good for localized power like in this case for Schools, Dispensaries, homes but bad for mass generation like Quadi Azem Solar Power projects.
