[h=1]Lawyers bring Punjab govt’s move into question[/h]LAHORE, July 15: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led Punjab government has raised many eyebrows in the legal community by giving additional charge of the advocate general Punjab (AGP) to Mustafa Ramday after appointing him additional advocate general.

The government has adopted an indirect procedure to fill the vacant post of the principal law officer of the province with a ‘confidant’ who has yet to attain the required age (45 years) to be eligible for the constitutional post.
Ramday is the son of retired Supreme Court judge Khalilur Rehman Ramday.
Article 140 of the Constitution requires that a person qualified to be appointed judge of the high court can be the AGP. The minimum age limit for a high court judge is 45 years and Ramday is not even 40 yet.

Man appears in LHC as chief of FBR to save his boss



ISLAMABAD: In an unprecedented case of impersonation, a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and a leading industrialist of the country have been caught red handed making fool of the Lahore High Court (LHC) in a high profile tax case.

One of employees of the industrialist was presented before the court as Chief Excise of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to distract the court from handing down a judgment against the imposition of capacity tax on the beverage industry, LHC documents available with The News reveal.
