LAHORE: The Punjab government on Sunday made large-scale transfers and postings in the police department across the province.

According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Zulfiqar Hameed has been transferred and posted as capital city police officer (CCPO) in Lahore.

Waqas Nazir has been posted as Deputy Inspector General-Operations (DIG-Operations) Lahore, reads the notification. Whereas Inam Waheed has been given the responsibility of DIG investigations, Tariq Abbas Qureshi has been transferred as regional police officer (RPO) Gujranwala and Bilal Siddique as RPO Sheikhupura.

While Waseem Ahmad Sial has been transferred and posted as RPO Multan and Sohail Tajik as RPO Bahawalpur.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, on October 3, had said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had eliminated VIP culture from the country and the foundation of a new Pakistan has been laid.

Talking to members of the Punjab assembly belonging to Rawalpindi and Sargodha divisions during his separate meetings held at Punjab House, Islamabad, the CM had said that development of a new Pakistan is a difficult and laborious job and the only way forward is to sincerely serve the people.

Detailed discussions were held to finalize strategy for the success of PTI candidate Dr. Shahzad Waseem in Senate election, solution of problems relating to the people and development schemes.

The chief minister had said that steps will be taken, under a composite strategy, for the identification and solution of people’s problems.

“I belong to the most deprived area of the province. An ordinary citizen is working as the chief minister. I have full understanding of problems relating to the people and different steps are being taken for their solution,” said the CM.

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Sunday made large-scale transfers and postings in the police department across the province.

According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Zulfiqar Hameed has been transferred and posted as capital city police officer (CCPO) in Lahore.

Waqas Nazir has been posted as Deputy Inspector General-Operations (DIG-Operations) Lahore, reads the notification. Whereas Inam Waheed has been given the responsibility of DIG investigations, Tariq Abbas Qureshi has been transferred as regional police officer (RPO) Gujranwala and Bilal Siddique as RPO Sheikhupura.

While Waseem Ahmad Sial has been transferred and posted as RPO Multan and Sohail Tajik as RPO Bahawalpur.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, on October 3, had said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had eliminated VIP culture from the country and the foundation of a new Pakistan has been laid.

Talking to members of the Punjab assembly belonging to Rawalpindi and Sargodha divisions during his separate meetings held at Punjab House, Islamabad, the CM had said that development of a new Pakistan is a difficult and laborious job and the only way forward is to sincerely serve the people.

Detailed discussions were held to finalize strategy for the success of PTI candidate Dr. Shahzad Waseem in Senate election, solution of problems relating to the people and development schemes.

The chief minister had said that steps will be taken, under a composite strategy, for the identification and solution of people’s problems.

“I belong to the most deprived area of the province. An ordinary citizen is working as the chief minister. I have full understanding of problems relating to the people and different steps are being taken for their solution,” said the CM.

These departments and their heads were the main hurdle in the way of reforms, it is good to see this action and I hope the new appointees will be a helpful tool in NAYA PAKISTAN

Free advice for the ones who were transferred. Some of them should make a video accusing govt that they were transferred because they were not obeying the orders of PTI's MPAs and circulate it on social media. I bet CJ will take suomoto notice and restore them. On the other hand, CJ has yet to start Supreme Judicial Council proceedings against a LHC judge whose name was in Panama papers and he had not declared his overseas properties.

Thanks to PTI learning so quickly. Last time when they formed government in KPK, they given this authority of police transfers to then IGP KPK and given free hands to Ihtesab Commission in KPK. Thanks God Khattak quickly realize and created a situation where head of Ihtesab commission resigned and then effectively made Ihtesab Commission toothless.

On the other hand the government feels handicapped if they can't even change an IG who can't do their job properly. The things you are pointing out are true though.
