I very much doubt his sincerity to the American people. He is misguided ideologue who is bent upon harming the American people.
His reliance on the rhetoric of extreme violent right is a big concern for the safety and unity of American people. As for his concerns for the American life; I do not see that he is very much bothered by the suffering and death of the Americans. The biggest cause of the violent death in US is the prevalence of the guns and his policies on the gun laws are cause much death in US. Similarly his policies on health care do not show that he has much sympathy to the common American’s problem and sufferings.
The afghan war is not much of a concern for the common American but how come his jingoist slogans and putting more troops to this useless war are to help and safeguard his citizens. It would result in more suffering and financial losses, the same as Bush policies harmed and divided the American nation. Also his emphasis on ties with India regarding afghan war will not strengthen the US position in Asia rather the converse, and that is not a successful policy in any manner.
Fortunately, he is not in control to lead a war. In spite of his tough talk, the Pentagon/congress will decide what is good for the American and for long-term stability of the nation. The speeches and policies of trump are not much of a concern because the powerful institutions in US neither have trust on him nor they are ready to give him any meaningful powers.
