Re: old quran help needed

Please do let us know with your intention so that we can help accordingly....

I am talking to one of my christian friend, I have to show him that in 1920s, there was no change made in quran to make its
font look ancient.

They were told so by some of the missionaries.

Please be careful....

Fonts (calligraphy) could be different but content is still the same ever since Quran's Nazool.
I think that's what you meant to say.

Fonts(calligraphy) in urdu and Arabic are called Rasm ul Khat. Please have a look at different samples in the above of the same sura.

There is another important concept in Arabic language.
There are different ways to write in Arabic... with (first example) or without (last example) Arabic sign vowels.

lt is easy for a native Arab to read Quran without Zer(Kasra), Zabar(Fathah), Pesh(Damma), which are Arabic sign vowels.

Compared to Arabs, non-Arabs can not read without vowels with ease and with the correct pronunciation...

These Arabic sign vowels are really important as it can change the meaning of the words and whole sentence all together.

So it is important that one should read Quran with correct pronunciation.

That is why at the beginning I said please be careful as this is sensitive topic while discussing with someone specially, a non-Muslim.
The best way is to sit with an Aalim or Imam, of a mosque in your area, along with your friend and then have this discussion.

We are through with content discussion, he has no doubt about , that uthman's quran and today's quran is the same, other then calligraphy.
But this is some thing else, I want to give them a proof against the impression they were given.

I do have very good book, with snippets/snapshots of quranic text from 800CE to now, But I really wanted to see how qurans were in pakistan in 1920, plus it would serve as a education for them.

I respectfully disagree, this is not a sensitive issue. Atleast not for muslims.
Muslims have a rock solid case, aganist any accusation or argument.

please don't take me wrong..

Sensitive in the sense that one has to have command on the subject matter, which you will be discussing with someone like Christians.
For example in order to convince Christians that Islam is a true religion, as Quran is still in it's original form when it was revealed on our Prophet (PBUH).
Bible on other hand is different than what originally it was sent by Allah on H. Isa (AS).

I agree with you that every Muslim should be able to present their case to these people.
And for that we should always keep studying about our religion besides practicing it.
