I agree with you that it cannot be verified...

But even if this Story is not true...then the substance is verifiable.....as to what Captain said about Darkness in Water...and if Prophet Mohammed ( PBUH) never travelled through Sea, then how would he know this....So this argument for Quran, can be put forward that it's Allah's Kalaam and not Prophet Mohammed's ( PBUH ) to other religions.

I agree with you that it cannot be verified...

But even if this Story is not true...then the substance is verifiable.....as to what Captain said about Darkness in Water...and if Prophet Mohammed ( PBUH) never travelled through Sea, then how would he know this....So this argument for Quran, can be put forward that it's Allah's Kalaam and not Prophet Mohammed's ( PBUH ) to other religions.

I believe Quran is book of Allah and it doesn't need unverified or stories to prove that it is a book. False or unverified stories don't help but rather create problem in my humble opinion.
