You can fight for ethnicity, you can fight for nationalism, you can fight on the basis of language, you can fight on the basis of colour , YOU are not a terrorist.
But
As soon as you stop raising slogans of nationalism, and carry the flag of shariah and islam, you become a terrorist.
That said, it is well noted in the initial days of fighting that Free syria army due to almost none training and expertise and lack of discipline within their ranks , could not do much. But as soon as the experienced fighters from Iraq, libya and as far as uzbakistan have joined in, you clearly see the success rate has gone much higher.
Saudia religious authority is not sure what to do, on one hand they are very afraid of these mujahideen coming back and starting fight against them, they have given fatwas against syrian jihad. But at the same time, due to public opinion, they are funding them also to some extent. Again they are very cautious in this , as they are quite afraid of what will these mujahideen do after the war ends in syria.
But i think the biggest threat is now from the west again which may interfere on the basis of saying that terrorists are using the chaos to implement their own ideology and gain ground in syria. This is quickly becoming a big danger for syrian freedom day by day...
So again, it comes back to , its good as long you hold a syrian flag , NOT A BLACK FLAG WITH KALIMA (La ilaha ila Allah ) ON IT.
As simple as that...
