Umar Akmal gives Pakistan injury scare

PALLEKELE: Pakistans Umar Akmal, who has been tipped to succeed his calamity-hit brother Kamran as World Cup wicket-keeper, suffered a finger injury in practice.
But team manager Intikhab Alam said scans had revealed no fracture for the middle order batsman. Umar hurt his index finger in the right hand while practicing on Thursday and we rested him as precaution. His scans were all clear, Alam told AFP.
Pakistan are considering handing the wicket-keeping gloves to 20-year-old Umar, the younger brother of Kamran who fluffed two chances in Pakistans 110-run defeat against New Zealand on Tuesday.
Umar kept wicket in three Twenty20 matches and in a one-day international last year. Pakistan take on Zimbabwe in their next Group A match on Monday where a win will guarantee a place in the quarter-finals. Pakistan have six points from four matches, while Zimbabwe have two from their four.

Just like last year, when kamran was dropped n this guy started to under-perform in some matches to save his brother.
abhi to sab se chote ne bhi ana hai team mein.
Khoon he ganda hai sala.

But nothing will be done by the the captain n coach. Nobody will send anybody home and call a new keeper. Afridi has turned out to be a coward captain. cant take big risks n difficult decisions. he is a hostage to this group just like last year when he resigned from captaincy in test matches.

Iss se to acha tha shoaib akhter ko he bana dete captain, laatain maar maar ke seedha to kar deta in ****** ki tails ko.
Now I feel politics will rise again in the team and Misbah already belongs to this group. Our chances are at stake just coz of these two brothers. GANDA KHOON.

Agree, these two brothers should be sacked immediately.
Lot of talent in Pakistan. This decision must be taken now to avoid blackmail in future matches.
Umar Akmal must be tried in court.
