My grandparents, from both sides, had migrated from Deccan after Pakistan was made. Karachi may ek jagah hay Hyderabad Colony.....udhar bhi issi accent aur dialect may guftugu chala karti thi ek zamane tak. Present generation of Hyderabadis in Pakistan have lost this sort of conversation (many have married with people from other backgrounds too)

I was raised in the same area and I loved to roam around Bahadur Yaar Jang School, Jamshed road and PIB colony . I normally used to get the kabobs from the Jail Choragi almost daily basis . I am not sure if that Person still sells kabob at the same place or not. Right at the corner on Jail Chorangi, there was this sweet place (Khalid Sweets) where I use to buy sweets and then there was this guy selling paans , next to sweet shop. One of my famous book store was Gulberg Book store and two brothers used to run that store inside the Hyderabad colony . Wow, what were those days , when we use to get inside the Mudrasi Hotel ( There was this only one in Hyderabad Colony ) , and use to buy Khatti daal and chapati....... I miss that all now. Munawar hassan of JI contested the sind provincial assembly's seat from That riding long time ago. I still remember working for his campaign .

بھتیجے ، منع کیا تھا کہ رات کو بھنگ نہ ٹرائ کیا کرو ،تمہاری قوت اختراح متاثر ہوتی ہے ۔۔میری اطلاع کے مطابق تو اسکے کبابوں میں گنڈا پور کی شہد والی ترکیب شامل ہو گئی ہے اور وہ اب بنی گالہ میںشہد بھرے کباب بیچ کر امیر ہوگیا ہے ۔ مسز بونگی تو ہر شام ، شام کباب شہد سے مناتی ہیں ، موقع ملے تو بوتل لے جائے گا ، شہد سے بھری ۔ ? ۔ ۔

یقین مانو۔۔وہ کھرب پتی خوش ہوگا۔۔ہوسکتا ہے کچھ بخشش بھی دے جائے۔۔۔ٹرائے کرنے میں کیا حرج۔۔
ویسے بھی تم فارغ ہی تو ہو۔۔اور یہاں فضول میں کھانستے رہتے ہو۔۔پڑے پڑے۔۔

یقین کرو میں غصے میں بالکل نہیں ہوں ، بھنگ کا نشہ اترے گا تو پھر ہی جانوگے نا ، یہ بھیڑی چیز ہی ایسی ہے۔
میں نے بھی بوتلوں والی بات ایسے ہی نہیں لکھی ، باقائدہ مشق موجود ہے ، گنڈا پوری نے تو پولیس کی بھی ریسیں لگوادی تھیں ، اب اتنی بھی بدگمانی اچھی نہیں ہے ? ۔

I remember this area. Everytime we visit Pakistan , atleast 1 visit tau idhar ka pakka hay...Pehle Oman may tha ab Canada may muqeem houn. Udhar ka achar, luqmiyaan aur dahi baday nahi bhoolte. Khair Abbu Miyan Chakna ka naam bhi suna hoga aap nay lekin ab woh baat nahi rahi. Yeh Deccan Achar tau colony ki purani ronaq hay. Issi neighbourhood may Jail Chorangi hay aur woh jail bhi jahaan Altaf Hussain sahab ko ek bar custody may rakkha tha tau jazbati jawanoun nay jail ki deewar ko he taud dala.
1990s tak food plus refreshments may itna masla nahi tha...ab tau khalis cheez dhoondna....!!
Baqi MQM aur JI ke elawa PPP ke koi slain member Suharwardi sahab bhi thay issi colony ke. Ab suna hay key colony may Jiyalaypun ka bukhaar jaag utha hay....Allah khair kare.

Abbu Mayan Chukna tu kae baar khaya hai. Mujhay aaj bhi yaad hai kay Abbu Miyan khod subah saweray chaknna ko aapni dokan kay bahar dhotay thay. Inkay humray hi eik aur purani Kiryanay Ki dokan hoti thi jiskay malik ka naam Mosa hota tha . Kafi loug os dokan say grocery khareedtay thay. Mosa ki dokan kay saath hi eik Hair salon ki dokan bhi hoti thi. Yeh sub dokanain Mujid ko rent pay karti thein. Abbu Miyan ki death kay baid oskay baitay nay chakna ki dokan sumbhali, lakin wo batt nahi rahi.
Lukmi kay elawa onion kay pakoray aur hari mirch kay pakoray bhi hohat lazeez hotay tha.... Ramzan kay doraan wahan ki Harees bhi bohat pasand ki jata hai.
