Democracy needs to evolve and strengthen before we comment upon its merits and demerits. In Pakistan democracy bashing has led to armed coups which have further damaged the system. Democracy is a viable force against extremism as it gives the masses an opportunity to voice their concerns and thus not resort to violence.
