Islamabad: A full bench of the Supreme Court formed to hear Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s constitutional petition pertaining to misconduct reference filed against him at the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has been dissolved today, GNN reported.
As the hearing resumed, Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s counsel Muneer A. Malik raised objection over the bench.
Justice Umar Atta Bandial, head of SC bench, remarked that the bench has been dissolved due to unavailability of Justice Mazhar Alam Mian Kheil.
Justice Umar Atta Bandial further stated that the court will formulate a new bench soon to resume the hearing.
The court has forwarded the matter of formation of a new full bench to Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa.
Earlier, a seven-member larger bench including Justice Umar Atta Bandial, Justice Maqbool Baqar, Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Faisal Arab, Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel had also dissolved as Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Ijazul Ahsan apologized from conducting the hearing.
