Dollar ke Nak mein Nathni only by Musharraf
Credit for maintaining Dollar for 8 years static means he was not corrupt, there was no leakage of money in corruption like Noora Zardari

For the first 25 years there were multiple exchange rates. Further liberal currency exchange regulations were introduced around 1990. How can these raw numbers be compared?

Considering O.P chart:

Yearly devaluation

Mohammad Ali Jinnah+Liaqut Ali Khan= 47-51=0 per anum.

Bureacracy and those who killed Liaqut Ali khan(Ghulam Mohd and Sikander Mirza)=51-58(3-1)=28.57 per anum.

1) Ayub 58-68 =33% = 3.3% per anum

2) Zia 78-88 =42% = 4.2% per anum

3)Musharraf 99-07(61-52)= 17%= 2.12% per anum
(In 2008 Yousaf Raza Gillani was prime minister . Also, Pervaiz Musharraf power weakened at the end of 2007. Therefore, 2008 spike not included)

4) Z A Bhutto . 71-78(20-10)= 100% = 14.28%
(1971 war and nationalization, if you factor out these two it might not look that bad)

5)BB 88-90= = 5% per anum.
93-96=33% = 11% per anum

6) Nawaz S 93-99= 10% per anum
91-93= 18% per anum

7)Yahya Khan= 69-72= 33% per anum (worst)

With an exception Of Yahya , all military dictators have kept it at under 5% per year. Bhutto was a bad mouth hypocrate and a fool who ordered the army to go for war. But he also did nationaliztion which also might have contributed.

Now thanks to current govt, textile mills are shifted to guess where???
Yes, Bangladesh................... can you imagine!!

If someone is rich by fair means and he is giving tax, give him more incentives. The money that he will bring will increase GDP and strengthen Rupee and the economy. But make sure that they give due tax but also give them incentives.

Btw Sikander Mirza was great grandson of Mir Jafar(The Treacherous).
Are you sure? I am not against any human but believe that those like Mir Jafer Mir Sadiq AAK Niazi , Kayani atleast army job should be banned for 7 generations also those involved in Abbottabad, Sahala incident Raymond Davis released
So next generation shouldn't do Ghaddari with our nation

The low percentages of external debt merely reflect the Bank's policy to buy foreign exchange from the local market which in turn reflects the relative free exchange of currencies in the market. In any case the important numbers are the debt/GDP ratio rather than the raw numbers.

A lay person who is slated to pay back these debts from taxes would rather seek for the following numbers and a few others.
a. The percentage/net debt for energy/water/education sectors and industrial machinery - they would pay for themselves by trade earnings hence these are positive.
b. The percentage/net debt for roads/local services and infra structure/luxuries such as Orange trains/military - those would be paid by local taxes or by re-borrowing hence those are bad.
c. The percentage/net debt for restructuring previous debt - these may reflect multiple economic factors or simple the largeness/inefficiency of the managers however you got to to do it.
Above all the most important number are the rate and terms of debt.

As for my humble opinion, the debt portfolio of current government is bad and would hinder the growth potential of the economy. Especially the policies of guaranteed returns for the investments cum borrowing (favorites of both PPP and PMLN) are not only questionable buy fishy as well.

For example a few years ago the Sindh government had an agreement for wind power generation with guaranteed return at 28+% of installed capacity where the industry best of wind power generation is less than 27% of installed capacity (you install for the maximum wind power which happens only occasionally). Thus they are slated to ever pay more than what they would get leave aside the mismanagement or underhand miscalculations. In fact our present economic plight can be traced to the nature of agreements with IPPs.
These two political parties would play the economic games for their own pockets and for the cheap pleasures of the electorate.
