You don't need to argue why PML (N) or PTI is not in the constituency. This is a complex scenario in this area. There are three major political parties i.e. PML (N or Q cahanging names), ANP and PPP. This area used to have a huge voter bank of PPP because of the Senator Sher Muhammad Khan (Late) during 70's and then his brother Badeeuzzaman (late). But due to the appearnce of Sultan-e-Sham (late brother of Zahir Shah died recently) in late 80's, political scenario was changed after that. Zahir Shah was from PML(N), but changed to Q during Musharraf era. The death of Zahir Shah recently shifted people's sympathy towards his family and it was of the reason his son won the elections. But there are other factors also. Ameer Muqaam has a good reputation in the area including Swat and Hazara division. Although Ameer Muqam belongs to Puran tehsil of Shangla district, but he has a very good involvement in the area on both sides of Indus. He worked hard during the IDP's crisis and also during the recent flood crisis in the whole area. Unfortunately the Government of ANP/PPP was sleeping during those times. How the people will refuse to vote him or his candidate? This is not PML(Q), but Ameer Muqaam's personal efforts due to which his candidate has won this elections.
Another reason for winning the elections by M.Rashad Khan (son of late Zahir Shah) is that this family is really a group of gentlemen, while the other is group has no reputation like that.
The populariy of JUI (Fazloo) has been eroded very badly due to the popular:) politics of Mr. Fazloo in the area.
