اسلام آباد (ساجد چوہدری ) سینٹ قائمہ کمیٹی آئی ٹی میں انکشاف کیا گیا کہ جن موبائل فون سے حکومت کو 30 سے 35 ہزار روپے کسٹم ڈیوٹی ملنی چاہئے وہ بند ہونے پر دو ، تین ہزار روپے لیکر کھولے جا رہے ہیں، جمعرات کو روبینہ خالد کی سربراہی میں قائمہ کمیٹی کا اجلاس ہوا،

اجلاس میں میاں عتیق شیخ نے کہا کہ لوگوں نے مقامی مارکیٹ سے موبائل فون خریدے جو دو ماہ کے بعد بلاک ہونا شروع ہو گئے ، بند کرنے کی وجہ کسٹم ڈیوٹی کی عدم ادائیگی بتائی جاتی ہے ،یہ سکیم اس لئے شروع کی گئی تھی کہ حکومت کو ریونیو ملے گا مگر محض 2 ہزار روپے لیکر بلاک فون کھل رہا ہے ،

روبینہ خالد نے کہا کہ سکیم کا بنیادی مقصد موبائل فون کی سمگلنگ روکنا تھا مگر اوورسیز پاکستان کو کہا جاتا ہے کہ صر ایک فون اپنے ساتھ لا سکتے ہیں اور جو مسافر اپنے ساتھ نہیں لا رہے ان کے کھاتے میں یہ ڈال دیئے جاتے ہیں ۔

Jahil qism kay log policy bana rahey hain jin ko aisi chezeo se wasta hi nahi, un ki janey bala chahey sara Pakistan jay jahanum mein, koi aqal or sense ki baat kisi department se ho nahi rahi

Yes no doubt that the current setup is full of monkeys , they r so dumb,
Even a broken new set has a very low value so how can one pay duty on it, besides phones prices decrease rapidly as new phones r always coming up

All Apple/Samsung products should be permanently banned in Pakistan until they start investing in our economy. Local phone companies should refuse to give services on their devices.

Huawei should be promoted with zero tax & duties. At least China is helping our economy and even allowing currency swaps to save our dollar reserves.

From what I understood, they are not changing IMEIs. They have insiders at airports who give data of incoming overseas passengers who dont bring their alloted quota of 1 free extra phone. The locked phones data is linked to that expatriate.

This mobile tax is absolutely ridiculous - I tried to register a three year old phone (once it got unlocked by US carrier) but the government has assessed a tax of Rs. 57000 which is more than its current value. Does it make sense to anyone? Moreover I’ve already paid a tax on this phone in the US.. I’ve sent multiple complaints on citizen portal without any resolution - I doubt if there’s anyone in this government who could understand a difference between “taxation” and “extortion” - This is how the government is facilitating overseas Pakistanis - I really regret voting for PTI - never again!!!
