QUETTA: As the Hazara community’s sit-in entered its fourth day on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced to visit the bereaved families of the Hazarganji market attack victims on April 18.

The premier will also attend a high-level meeting on peace and security during his visit to the provincial capital.

The Hazara community’s sit-in protest started after Friday’s suicide attack which killed 20 people including ten members belonging to the Hazara community and around 50 injured. Da’ish on Sunday claimed responsibility for the attack on the vegetable market.

According to the protesters, they will continue their sit-in till the arrest of the culprits. They also urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to visit Quetta.

State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi also reached Quetta on Monday afternoon. State Minister was accompanied by PM’s coordinator and Special Assistant Syed Zulfiqar (Zulfi) Abbas Bukhari.

State Minister will visit Civil Hospital and inquire about the health of those injured in Hazargangi blast. He will also offer Fateha for the victims of the blast.

After the blast that took place at Hazar Ganji market early Friday morning, members of the beleaguered Hazara community gathered at Quetta’s Western Bypass to protest against what they term the ‘persistent failure’ of law enforcers to provide them security in Balochistan and across Pakistan.

The protesters were joined by the leaders of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) on Sunday as they demanded from Prime Minister Imran Khan to come to Quetta and assure them that the National Action Plan (NAP) would be fully implemented across the country against armed groups targeting innocent people.

Despite numerous rounds of talks with provincial government officials, the protesters have refused to end their sit-in until they get a guarantee from the federal government that terrorist attacks won’t be repeated against Hazara community.

Good to see PM visiting the victims to show them that they are us!
