وفاقی وزیر اسد عمر نے ٹوئٹر پر اپنے پیغام میں کہا کہ وزیراعظم کا فیصلہ کہ 65 سال سے زیادہ عمر کے
غریب قیدی جو بیمار ہیں اور کسی گھناؤنے جرم کے مرتکب نہیں، ان کو رہا کرنے کی پالیسی بنائی جائے، ایک اور قدم ہے ایک ایسے پاکستان کی طرف جس میں حکومت کی اولین ترجیح نہ طاقتور اور نہ دولتمندبلکہ ملک کا کمزور طبقہ ہے ۔ ​

Great gesture, 65+ who were in pity cases, who are not a threat to the national security or have not caused any financial or other harms to the country, should be released and allowed to go to their families to live a respectable life. They need kind treatment from the head of the country.

As many as 19 prisoners belonging to different parts of country, involved in petty crimes were released from Adiala Jail on Thursday so they could celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their families, said officials.

Similarly, the punishment of 117 prisoners has also been decreased by the jail authorities, they said. President Mamnoon Hussain has pardoned the prisoners on eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, they said. The jail authorities have released a total of 19 prisoners who were involved in petty crimes ahead of Eid-Ul-Fitr and the punishment of 117 prisoners has also been decreased on orders of President.


Even in their own tenure, PTI released prisonors on Eid earlier this yea.r
