Mqm to save the country: Altaf hussain
Karachi 20th November 2010:
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain said that the corrupt elements in the country have despoiled national wealth to such an extent that it has become difficult to run the country. He warned that if the present states of affairs continued than God forbid a time may come when Pakistan would have to be given on lease through advertisement on the international media. Mr Altaf Hussain was addressing a big gathering of MQM workers, office-bearers, and volunteers of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF), the charitable wing of MQM, at the base camp made in Federal B Area established in connection with collection of hides of sacrificial animals. Mr Hussain said that a revolution imminent and hence the students, mothers and sisters must prepare themselves.
Referring to the deteriorating economic condition of the country Mr Altaf Hussain said that the rulers are taking loans from IMF, World Bank and other financial institutions and churning out new currency notes against these loans. He said that these people have brought the country on the edge of a precipice. He said that the workers of MQM would not only stand in the way and not let the situation come to this pass but also become the harbinger of a revolution in the country on the lines of the French Revolution. He said that the message of MQM has reached even in the remotest parts of the country and there is no village, hamlet and town where the admirers of MQM were not present. He declared that MQM was the representative party of the downtrodden and oppressed people in the country labourers, peasants, farmers, women falling victim to karo kari and poor people afflicted with poverty and hunger.
Mr Altaf Hussain said that the day was not far when the oppressed and downtrodden people would bring a revolution in the country with their unity and genuine leadership would take the reign of the country. He said that the people have seen the work of MQM during its tenure in the City Government in Karachi and elsewhere in the local government setup and they were well aware that the quantum of development work done by Haq Parast leadership far exceeded the work done in past 63 years by any political party worth the name. He said that if the affairs of the country are given in the hands of MQM, then it would bring the country on par with the developed countries in the world.
If MQM is given a chance to serve the country then we would root out corruption and recover all the money that has been usurped in the name of bank loans. MQM would stop printing currency notes for economic turn-around and spread a network of cottage industries and provide avenues of business. Those industrialists and businessmen who have transferred money in foreign countries would be asked to bring their money back in the country. MQM would introduce reforms in every department of the country. It would ensure better healthcare facilities and introduce uniformity in the education system. We will make our foreign policy ourselves and promote merit in every department by bringing an end to nepotism.
Mr Altaf Hussain made it clear that MQM was not the party of any particular class speaking a particular language rather it was the only political party in the country that had representation from all linguistic entities, religion and persuasion. He said that MQM was the only political party that was practical steps for ending the age-old feudal system. He said that MQM believed in serving the people and there was no political party in the country like MQM striving for the rights of the oppressed people including labourers, peasants and farmers.
Mr Altaf Hussain explained that MQM believed in serving the humanity and this time KKF had not only got hides from Karachi and other urban areas of Sindh but also from the Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa and people living in small islands around Karachi also conveyed hides to the offices of MQM. It is a manifestation of the truthfulness of the ideology and philosophy of MQM that people from different ethnicities and social backgrounds were making unified effort against feudalism. Mr Hussain deplored that baseless allegations were levelled against MQM in the past as being a linguistic party but this was disproved with the passage of time.
I am confident that there is not a single political party in Pakistan that has representation from all linguistic and religious entities and MQM is the only party that is waging a struggle for the rights of all these people. MQM is the only party in which there is no disparity between workers, leaders and founding leaders. It is the party in which workers are not looked down upon as servants as against other political parties whose leaders consider it below their status to work with their workers.
MQM is trying its best to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet and the present gathering in which each participant is taking part with love, sincerity and honour. Participants consider themselves part of a big family instead of belonging to a particular linguistic group or ethnic minority. This family will save Pakistan through same power and energy that created Pakistan.
People are now looking up towards MQM because MQM has given them a new hope. The scattered people who were living under the influence of land mafia, corruption mafia, landlords and industrialists have found a new hope in MQM. There is no party like MQM that always remains in the people in the times of crises. Whether it is the worst floods or the bomb attacks MQM workers are always at the forefront helping the people.
Mr Altaf Hussain praised MQM workers and KKF volunteers in Karachi and other parts of the country for working day and night in collecting hides of sacrificial animals. He lauded the efforts of all the units and sectors, provincial committees, district office-bearers and workers and members of Co-ordination Committee in London and Pakistan for untiring efforts.
In the end he praised the workers of the City Government for quickly disposing offal and law-enforcing agencies, Police and Rangers for maintaining law and order situation during Eid.
