'Pakistani hospitality wins hearts' Gippy Grewal hosted by Javed Afridi

Peshawar Zalmi chairman Javed Afridi on Wednesday hosted Indian singer-songwriter Gippy Grewal and gifted him team’s jacket and autographed bat.

Gippy Grewal came to Pakistan to pay reverence at Nankana Sahib Gurdwara and visited his ancestral home in Mansoora. He expressed happiness with hospitality in Pakistan. “Pakistani hospitality wins hearts”, he expressed.

Javed Afridi said that the meeting with Gippy went well and hoped that more Indian actors will visit Pakistan and vice versa. He said that players and artists bring countries closer. He presented Indian singer with various gifts which he liked and wished good luck to Peshawar Zalmi for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 5.

On the other hand, Indian actor-singer Gippy Grewal has expressed wish to work with Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat.

In a statement, the actor said ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ is his favourite film and hoped to meet Mehwish Hayat in Pakistan. He also said that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is his favorite Pakistani singer.

Gippy further thanked Pakistanis for their hospitality and pledged to again visit his ancestral home in Faisalabad.

On Jan 22, Indian actor-singer Gippy Grewal visited his ancestral home in Mansoora, Pakistan following his reverenced visit to Kartarpur’s Gurdwara on Jan 20.

Indian star took to social media and expressed gratitude towards resident of Mansoora calling them his family. He posted a video of an elderly man and said that he is an old friend of his uncle. He added that the old man told him stories about the partition.



He said that he felt so happy visiting his lineal place and he can never repay for such love.

On Jan 21, renowned Indian Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal on Monday visited Gurdwara Nankana Sahib in Kartarpur, Pakistan to pay homage.

According to a private website, the 37-year-old Indian singer was welcomed by the Pakistani Punjab government when he arrived along with a delegation.

The Spokesperson of Punjab Government Musarrat Jamshed Cheema met the visiting Indian Celebrity and welcomed him on the behalf of the provincial government.

Talking to the media, Gippy Grewal said that they had long been planning to visit Pakistan. He said that they had to visit the holy shrine of Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, and once the Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji had bestowed his blessings upon them, their visit to Pakistan became a reality.

“I am very happy to be here,” the actor said.

The actor said that they have great feelings to visit Pakistan, and meet their own people and brothers.

Gippy Grewal also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfi Bukhari for making the arrangements and made their visit possible.
