Pakistan got no capability to have aircraft carrier. Its not a simple navy vessel. Secondly we do not need to have one atleast at this stage . Its a stuff for operations far beyond borders and our country as ever in defensive status.

Doesnt take a rocket scientist to do a bit of googling and verify a supposed news. First off, this is from February. Secondly, this was refuted by China and Pakistan not once, but several times. Pakistan doesnt need an aircraft carrier anyway. We dont have any hegemonic designs.

Unfortunately carrier combat is reality of 21st century, all major powers have carriers and India will have 3 soon. Pakistan may not be able to afford its own new carrier but least we can do is buy old carrier and use it for training purpose. Once our Navy has better understanding of how these ships work, they will be better prepared to fight against enemy carriers as they will have first hand experience with it.

Don’t listen to dumb people like this who argued against Bhutto getting nuclear weapons because it was too expensive, we need to stay one step ahead of the enemy at all times.

Do you know what is aircraft carrier is and what it does?
Do you think our war planners have not thought about all different war scenarios. Our pilots have already trained on Chinese SU-30 and have done many exercises with Chinese air-force.
Why we don't need aircraft carrier at this time.
1) Our arm forces including navy have a limited budget due to economic crisis for last 30 years (thanks to democracy and Musharraf).
2) We have to have fighter jets (generation 3.5 /4 or 5) for aircraft carrier which we don't have. Our air force need 200+ advance 4th generation fighter to replace old F7s and mirages.
2) Our Navy doesn't have destroyers, Frigates and supporting ships to protect Aircraft Carrier in war situation.
