(Web Desk) – Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor stated on Sunday that the Pakistan authorities have taken up the case of suspension of Twitter and Facebook social media accounts which had been posting in support of Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK).

"Pakistan authorities have taken up the case with Twitter and Facebook against suspending Pakistani accounts for posting in support of Kashmir. Indian staff at their regional headquarters is the reason," Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor stated through his personal Twitter account on Sunday.

He also invited the social media users to share information about the accounts that had been suspended. Gen Asif’s statement comes as #StopSuspendingPakistanis was trending on Twitter in Pakistan.

Over the last one week, multiple Pakistanis have taken to Twitter to report that accounts were being suspended after they posted about Kashmir.

Earlier this week, the Twitter account of a local English newspaper correspondent was suspended after he responded to a tweet from Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Facebook has the greatest number of fact checking partners in India, followed by the United States, according to the Poynter Institute. The numbers, Poynter said, are a reflection of where the majority of Facebook’s users are situated. There are 250 million Indian Facebook users.

According to Facebook, the organisations which have partnered with the social media giant for fact checking purposes in India include, AFP India, Boom, Fact Crescendo, Factly, India Today Fact Check, Newsmobile Fact Checker, The Quint, Vishvas.News.

On the other hand, Facebook has only partner in Pakistan as mentioned on its website: AFP Pakistan.

Can Pakistani authorities also ask the countries why they reject Pakistani visa? While there are 186,000 Indians students are in US and 130,000 students are in Canada, why genuine Pakistani students visas are being rejected without any valid reason?

I know one case where one Pakistani student apply for admission in a Canadian college and Canadian college told the student to content their regional office located in New Delhi, India for admission. The Indian told the students clearly that Canadian Consulate doesn't issue visas to Pakistani students so don't apply for admission. Canadian/Indians didn't even bothered to know what is the education /skills/ knowledge of the person, which course then student wants to apply.

If they don't want Pakistani students and more importantly their international tuition $$ then student needs to consider going to China or other places to get education. It's not like student is wanting free education. We should stop begging these counties to take our students if they don't want us and spend our monies elsewhere. For example you can go to the Turkish part of Cypress and attend great Universities in English or look into German Universities.
