Popalzai says 1st Ramazan on August 1

PESHAWAR: Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai has announced that 1st day of the holy month of Ramazan would fall on Augusut (Monday), Geo News reported Sunday.

Popalzai made the announcement while talking to media men after a meeting held here at Masjid Qasim Ali Khan which was attended by local Ulema and notables of the area.

Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai said many witnesses of the moon including a woman approached the Ulema who examined the account of witnesses.

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will hold its meeting on Monday to announce sighting of the moon or otherwise.

Masjid Qasim khan, Peshawar announced first ROZA to be on 1st Aug, Monday....... I'm in Peshawar and heard the announcement myself late tonight....Ramadan Mubarak to all Muslim Ummah...... may Allah bless all of us.....

Yeah I'm in peshawar right now..... Monday ko pehla roza hae inshallah...... Masjid Qasim khan kia kal poore middle east aur Europe mae bhi roza hae......... jis ne nahi rakhna hota on ke lie good news hae ke wo poora mahina nahi rakhengen aur phir eid middle east ke sath manaengen....... Han Ravaet-e Hilal ko tab nazar ata hae jab chand do din ka Ho kar asman mae hamara munh chira raha hota hae........

Brothers u seriously dont know what r u talking about... 6 people gave shahadah of moon sighting so instead of talking non sense and increasing ur sins... plz refrain from it as this will do no good to u but u might be committing a major sin...It is a huge responsibility of giving shahadah as on one's shahadah of moon sighting, they decide about it whether scholars or ordinary people...but central royat hilal committee should have gathered for moon sighting as they are also human beings and they might be wrong in calculations who knows... and brother thread starter , u started this thread, so if these brothers are committing sins then be sure that u r also getting share from it ... rest Allah (SWT) knows best...:jazak:

Every frikking year people see the moon in Popalzais area the same time as it is seen in KSA...and never with Pakistan. Strange coincidence.

Hence Ramadan is not yet announed in Australia according to moonsighting.

Not Seen: Zahid Hafeez (MCW member) from Adelaide, ACT reported: The hilal for Ramadan was not sighted in Adelaide (AU) on Sunday evening, July 31 for two reasons: there was over 50% cloud cover at the horizon and the moon was only 13 hours old, which is too young to be sighted with the naked eye. An attempt was made with binoculars from Mt. Lofty from sunset time to moonset but without success.
  3. Not Seen: Habeeb Mohamed-Hussain (MCW member) from Gold Coast, QL reported: On July 31, a group of six people went to sight the moon at Mount Tamborine Gold Coast. East Coast, Australia. It was clear sky. Not sighted in Gold Coast, Brisbane. The moon was about 8 deg above the horizon while sun was one deg above the horizon as per sun n moon I phone application. It is confirmed that moon was not seen anywhere in Australia and fasting will starts Tuesday the 2nd August 2011.
  4. Not Seen: Dr. Shabbir Ahmed (MCW member) Imam of Rooty Hill Mosque Sydney, NSW reported: The Hilaal of Ramadaan 1432 has not been sighted anywhere in Australia. Therefore, the Hilaal Committee and Majlisul Ulamaa’ of Australia have declared that the month of Ramadaan 1432 will start from Tuesday 2nd of August 2011.

Therefore, official day of beginning of fasting in Nigeria is 1st August, 2011.

please dont debate on this issue... i used to oppose this but this time i thought for a while . and this is tee reason pakistan cannot be an islamic state... as religion is a personal thing... and every one has his own interpretation and views and one can only express his version not impose..... govt job is to facilitate it... so govt may choose what ever way of interpreting and assign holidays or change in office hours.. no one shud question them and government shudnt question any one.. and if some one in celebrates its eid not following govt days.. he/she shud make sure they come to office or work on that day as this is not an official holiday..... thats the only difference...
