LAHORE: After a thorough investigation conducted for more than a week, the Defence-A police on Friday registered a case against film star Meera, her parents, uncle, brother and brother-in-law for theft and intimidation charges on the complaint of her husband.

Meeras husband Attiqur Rehman of Faisalabad, in his application, stated that he had married Meera on September 2, 2007. He said he had to live abroad most of the time. On August 28, he returned to his house in Defence-A and found her wife Meera, her mother Shafqat Begum, father Sarwar, brother Ahsan, brother-in-law Raheel and uncle Abbas were stealing valuables including furniture and electric generator. The complainant said as he tried to stop the accused, they started threatening to kill him. SHO Defence-A police station Abid Rasheed said police were conducting raids for the arrest of the accused who had fled their house in Defence
